Eyeliner - Everything you need to know

Eyeliner

Permanent eyeliner treatments have become increasingly popular as a convenient and smudge-proof alternative to daily application. The treatment involves injecting pigments into the lash line to create a lasting and defined appearance. There are several options available for those interested in cosmetic eyeliner:

Lash line Enhancement: This treatment provides a traditional eyeliner effect with pigments carefully applied along the lash line. Permanent eyeliner is suitable for those seeking a classic look. This provides a very natural look and enhances the natural eye shape along the top lashes.

Winged Eyeliner: This option involves customising the treatment to suit individual needs and preferences. The technician will work with the client to design the desired shape, thickness, and style of the eyeliner.  Eyeliner can be placed on the top and bottom lashes, or just the top.

What does the treatment involve?

The process of permanent eyeliner typically involves an initial consultation to discuss the desired look and style, followed by pre-drawing and numbing the area with a topical anaesthetic. The technician will then apply the pigment using a machine to create the desired eyeliner shape. The entire procedure may last between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the complexity of the desired design.

How long does permanent eyeliner last?

Permanent eyeliner, also known as semi-permanent eyeliner, generally lasts anywhere from 2 to 5 years depending on factors such as the individual’s skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. The pigment will gradually fade over time, and touch-up appointments will be needed to maintain the desired effect.

Do eyeliner treatments require any aftercare?

Yes, aftercare is essential for proper healing and long-lasting results of all semi-permanent makeup procedures. Immediately following the procedure, the treated area may be red, swollen, and sensitive. It is important to keep the area clean and follow the aftercare instructions provided by the technician. This may include avoiding makeup, swimming, or exposing the area to direct sunlight for a specified period.

Touch-up appointments may also be necessary to maintain the desired results.
