Microblading gives natural, hair-stroke brows, but the results you see in the mirror three days after treatment aren't the results you'll keep. Healing is a process, and how you treat your brows in the first month has a real effect on how crisp and even the final pigment looks.
Below is the same guidance Linda walks every client through after their appointment, so you know exactly what's normal, what to avoid, and when to book your follow-up.
Healing week by week
Days 1–3: bold and defined
Your brows will look noticeably darker and more solid than the healed result; this is completely normal. The pigment sits closer to the surface and hasn't settled yet. Avoid getting them wet for the first 24 hours.
Days 4–10: flaking and scabbing
Light, dry flaking is part of healing as the skin renews itself. It can feel itchy; resist the urge to pick or scratch, as this can pull pigment out unevenly and leave patchy spots.
"The biggest mistake I see is clients picking at the flaking; patience in week one protects the whole result."
Days 11–25: the "ghost" phase
Once flaking finishes, brows can look patchy or unusually light. This is temporary; pigment is still settling beneath the skin's surface and colour will gradually return.
Days 25–30: true colour settles
By around day 30, healing is complete and you'll see your true, softer result. This is the shade and shape you'll live with day to day until your touch-up.

Do's and don'ts while healing
A few simple habits make the biggest difference to how evenly your brows heal:
Do
- Keep brows dry for 24 hours
- Apply aftercare balm sparingly, as directed
- Sleep on your back where possible
- Use a clean pillowcase during healing
Don't
- Pick, scratch or peel flaking skin
- Use makeup or skincare actives on the area
- Swim, sauna or sweat heavily for 2 weeks
- Expose brows to direct sun without SPF
Your touch-up appointment
Every microblading treatment includes a touch-up 6–8 weeks after the first session. It's not optional; skin retains pigment differently the first time round, and the touch-up is where Linda perfects density, symmetry and shape once healing is fully complete.
After that, most clients return for an annual colour boost to keep brows looking crisp as strokes naturally soften over time.
Common questions
Can I wear makeup while healing?
Avoid makeup directly on the brow area until fully healed, around day 25 to 30. Foundation and powder can affect how pigment settles.
Is itching normal?
Mild itching during flaking is normal. Pat, don't scratch, and let your aftercare balm do the work.
What if my brows look patchy after healing?
This is exactly what the touch-up appointment is for. It's a normal part of the process, not a sign anything went wrong.
